Good news the automation of genome sequencing is closer at hand with the recent news of  instruments from Caliper in the mix.

I remember a few years back when I spent some time with the folks form Caliper as they were bringing their Swinger online with the Roche 480 platform. That real-time instrument combined with a robotic arm was sure a sight to see.

Now if sample preparation could enter the dawning age of rapid diagnostics that would be something, at Fluoresentric we have been working on automation friendly sample preparation chemistries.  One that we know works really well with automation is the Direct-2-PCR chemistry, it is only a few pipetting steps for a robot, though we do it with dropper vials in our lower throughput, and field deployed settings.  Furthermore, there is only limited additional equipment required, and most liquid handling robots can do what is needed...heat the sample.

If you want to try it out for yourself we are offering a buy 1 get 1 free offer now through the end of May. Check us out online at www.fluoresentric.com or go directly to the product page at Direct-2-PCR.
